Experience Utah’s Rocky Mountains at the Western Pediatric Trauma Conference (WPTC) that will take place in Sundance, Utah at the Sundance Mountain Resort. Here you will enjoy the education, the family and the adventure.

The WPTC features nationally renowned faculty in the fields of pediatric trauma, pediatric surgical sub-specialties, critical care, emergency medicine, and pre-hospital care. The program content is targeted to physicians and health care professionals who care for injured children.  After attending this conference, participants will report increased knowledge related to care of the pediatric trauma patient and report intent to change practice based on new evidence-based practice information provided.

Point-Counterpoint sessions have become a cornerstone of the conference offering a bit of fun and educational debate on a topic facing the pediatric trauma healthcare community.

Pre-Conference Sessions

Opportunities for oral and poster abstract (scientific and best practice) presentations are available.


Scientific presentations are eligible for manuscript publication in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery.​

Resident/APP Research Session
12:00 - 5:00 PM

Join us for a pre-conference course designed for all healthcare providers interested in quality improvement and clinical research. A Tool Kit for Practice-Based Research will serve as both an introduction to research and an avenue to bring life to your research and a quality improvement ideas. This course will cover research fundamentals, design and methodology, statistics, principle of scientific writing and more.
