Accreditation and Objectives


The Western Pediatric Trauma Conference features nationally renowned faculty in the fields of pediatric trauma,

pediatric surgical sub-specialties, critical care, emergency medicine, and pre-hospital care. The program content

is targeted to physicians and health care professionals who care for injured children.

Healthcare providers from all disciplines are invited to submit scientific or best practice abstracts. Podium and

poster presentations will be selected from each abstract category.



This conference will enable the healthcare provider to:

  1. Evaluate innovative management techniquest of both common and unusual trauma cases
  2. Apply evidence-based medicine to trauma care.



This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation

requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education

(ACCME) through the joint providership of Primary Children’s Hospital and the Department of

Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Primary Children’s Hospital is accredited

by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
